Yoga Nidra, translated as Yogic sleep, is a systematic method of inducing a complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
A Yoga Nidra is a systematic meditation practice whereby the yogi lies in shavasana, and is initially guided through a body scan and breath meditation. These initial stages of the practice help calm the nervous system and enable the body and mind to enter a deep resting state. It is within this deep resting state that we are able to cultivate healing and develop an inner calmness.
Each Yoga nidra practice usually has an intention to the practice, a Sankalpa , and it’s this Sankalpa that helps the body and mind to create an energy or purpose to the practice. This session will be focused around creating balance in the body and will include a visualisation meditation based on the seven Chakras.
Everyone is welcome to come practice and experience this special Yoga Nidra.
